Waveland - Mrs. Elizabeth Handy died of pleuro pneumonia at her home near town at 12 o'clock Tuesday night aged 55 years. The funeral services were conducted at the Christian Church at 11 a.m. today by the Rev. Kendall of Browns Valley, after which the body was taken to Russellville for interment. Her death was rather a shock to the community as but few knew of her illness.
Note: Jesse Guinn Handy married Elizabeth Griffith 9 August 1860 - they lived in the Russellville-Waveland community so I'm assuming this is Jesse's wife. They had no children and Jesse passed in March 1887. -- kbz
